It has been a different kind of experience this trimester for many of our industrial arts students in the Middle School. We learned about the carpentry and electrical trades and put that knowledge to work, first in creating mini-walls with plugs and switches and lights, and now in combining those mini-walls to make a small shed. Thanks to Jonesville Lumber, Stohl’s Metal Sales, and Dice Roofing Plus for donating the materials to make it happen. Each shed has over $800 of materials invested, including a plug in for an extension cord which gives power to the inside and a hidden fastener roof! These sheds will be available to purchase at Jonesville Riverfest with the funds going towards the Industrial Arts program at the Middle School. Our students did a great job of putting these all together!
This trimester, students in the high school Construction Class are looking to find 3-5 clients who would like a shed or shed-like structure built. Students will meet with the client, design the structure, create a materials list, and make a contract with the client to build the structure. We think we can build a regular garden shed, a hunting blind, a playhouse, a chicken coop, or whatever. Interested? Contact Jeff Dice for more information via phone or text at 989-246-4298.
Thanks for your help on this. Much appreciated.
