
Athletic Department Update:
As we close out our regular seasons for the winter sports, the MHSAA tournaments start up.
This week we are hosting the wrestling team district on Thursday, February 6, at 6:00. Our Comets will take on the Hanover-Horton Comets at 6:00 in the district semifinals. The winner will play Camden-Frontier for the district Championship ten minutes after the conclusion of the semifinal match. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co. Here is the link -

On Saturday, February 8, the wrestlers will travel to Dansville for their individual district competition. Wrestling starts at 9:30. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co.
On Friday, February 14, we will be hosting the competitive cheer team district as 14 teams will be attending. The start time is 6:00. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co.
The bowling regionals for both teams(girls and boys) will be at M66 Bowl in Battler Creek . The team tournament will be on Friday, February 21, with a 9:00am start time. The individual tournament will ne on Saturday, February 22 with a 9:00am start. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co.
The boys basketball district tournament will be in Hudson this year starting on February 24. Times and opponent are TBD. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co.
The girls basketball district tournament will be in Homer this year starting on March 3. Times and opponent are TBD. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are allowed and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.co.

Good afternoon Comet families. This message is for our families who have students that live in the North Adams school district. This is a reminder that due to their cancellation of school, those bus routes serving that area will not be running the p.m. runs into that district. Please make arrangements for your students. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Due to Litchfield being on a two hour delay, Route 12 will not be running today. The rest of the buses will run as usual. Route 12 will be running this afternoon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Good morning Comet families. Due to a threat made at the middle school that is still being investigated, JCS will be closed today Friday, January 31st.

Good afternoon Comet families! I’m reaching out to you tonight to let you know that JCS will be closed tomorrow, January 21st, due to extremely low temperatures. I will be keeping an eye on the temperature for Wednesday tomorrow. Stay warm and go Comets!

Thank you to our dedicated JCS board members! We are grateful for your sacrifice and commitment to our staff and students.


It is open to all students in grades 9-12. Performances can include singing, dancing or any unique talent. Each performance should not exceed 5 minutes and participants must provide their own music or props. All performances must be pre-approved by Feb.21st and have any changes approved by Feb 28th. We are having students send an audition video to our email. Once approved they will get a short questionnaire for our emcee.
There will be a $5 Entry Fee per person to attend the show. All children under 5 are free.
All funds raised will benefit the Jonesville Music Program.

JCS would like to thank outgoing board member, Scott Campbell, for his 12 years of service to our district and community. Board membership comes with a lot of responsibility and navigating challenging times and events. Scott was able to do this while keeping a focus on what is best for staff and students. Reminder that Jonesville Middle School is running a fundraiser today at the Coldwater Applebee's. Applebee's is giving back 10% of sales tonight for the Washington D.C. trip for our middle schoolers. Please visit from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Go Comets!

Good afternoon Comet families! There are some questions about the FFA/Press box projects. The plans were both submitted to the state over the summer and came back with required fixes. We had them fixed and the plans have been resubmitted to the state. We hope to hear back soon! We apologize for the delays but the projects are on track!

Dr. Bill Adams, Rotarian, reciting "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to Jonesville first graders, while they drink hot cocoa and eat a candy cane. The kids really enjoyed the experience!
