Good evening Comet families. I wanted to make you aware of a situation that occurred earlier today. There was a chase involving the police and the suspect dumped the car next to the high school. The police did a sweep of the inside of the high school and found no one. In an abundance of caution, they will be there tomorrow morning as well. We want to thank the police department for their efforts in keeping our schools safe. Have a good evening.

Congratulations to retired JCS educator and Varsity Football Coach Greg Morrison on his induction into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2025! Coach Morrison coached the Comets' varsity football team from 1984-2005. In those twenty-two years his overall record was 137-67. His teams won eight league titles and qualified for the playoffs ten times. The induction ceremony is June 20, 2025. Congrats Coach Morrison!!

PLEASE NOTE!!!

Our Square One Robotics Team had a great day at the 2025 V2X (Vehicle to Everything) 2025 Competition at Oakland Community College. The members had a great showing with in-person competition tasks, a Perfect Pitch speech, and representing JHS! Out of 22 schools, our V2X Team was awarded first place for their Engineering Journal! Congratulations to senior Chad Wickham, junior Caleb Morts, and sophomores Quintinn and Taylor Ferguson!

Over the past few months the Animal Science course has been learning about different species of animals as well as their breeds and purposes. The students were able to learn about all of the facets of rabbits and then were able to watch the reproduction cycle in real time. All of the students are now able to enjoy the baby rabbit snuggles when down at the barn. The Advanced Agriculture class also took on the responsibility of caring for the rabbits during the week and weekends. Some of the baby rabbits will now be used for an FFA competition, on May 1st, to complete the life cycle of the meat rabbits. All of the students have worked diligently to be able to apply what they learned in class down at the barn on a weekly basis.
